Michelle and I went down to Boulder Boats to try the boat out on the lake. The boat, barring a few last minute adjustments, was all ready to go. The plan was to tow it with my truck, but unfortunately I didn’t have the proper wiring harness installed to hook up the trailer lights. They poked around the repair shop but couldn’t find the proper kit for my truck model, so we had to wait a few minutes until one of the lot’s trucks returned from some errand somewhere. It wasn’t too long, and salesperson Jim towed the boat down to the lake with us following behind. I had to pay $10 to get into Lake Mead National Recreation Area....

Today I went down to Boulder Boats in Boulder City, NV (they have a pretty good reputation as far as I can make out) and Stuart showed me two boats I had seen in their online inventory. A 18’ 1994 Four Winns Horizon 180 SE, and a 21’ 1987 Bayliner Capri 2150. While the Bayliner was a longer boat at 21 feet, the cuddy cabin closes off the bow area, so it actually feels to be less roomy. The cuddy cabin provides just enough space to store your skis/gear or lie down in; it’s really just a cushioned crawlspace.
